Friday, November 8, 2024 – After several early morning wake-ups for day trips, we finally enjoyed a leisurely day start, boarding a bus to Manavgat at 10 a.m. for a scenic river cruise. Known for its natural beauty and historical sites, Manavgat is a popular destination in Turkey’s Antalya Province, where visitors can experience the unique intersection of river and sea.

The tour began with a cruise along the Manavgat River, offering picturesque views of lush landscapes and glimpses of the area’s luxurious hotels lining the banks. The trip lasted just under an hour, with us appreciating the chance to relax and soak in the surroundings. During the cruise, our tour guide provided commentary, blending history with humor, which kept spirits high and added a personal touch to the journey.

Upon reaching the river’s mouth where it flows into the Mediterranean Sea, we were greeted by a stunning view. The November day was mild, with temperatures hovering around 24 degrees Celsius. Despite being late in the year, the sea offered an inviting mix of cool and warm waters, creating an ideal setting for a refreshing swim. We eagerly took the plunge, embracing the rare chance to swim in the Mediterranean during November—indeed a memorable experience!

Following the swim, we returned to the ship for a satisfying lunch. The meal, served onboard, featured local flavors and offered a chance for everyone to relax and share stories about the day’s experienced. The leisurely pace of the afternoon gave the group a chance to truly unwind, marking a contrast to their busy schedule from previous days.

As the cruise concluded, we reflected on a fulfilling day that balanced relaxation with adventure. The combination of scenic river views, a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean, and a well-prepared lunch made the experience a highlight of our stay in the region.
